This place is the best!!! The food is so bomb! The service is quick , and super friendly people !
Good Friends has just what you want from a small, mom & pop, better-than-most, hole-in-the-wall American-Chinese restaurant (that also has Japanese and sushi on the menu). I'm talking about affordable/cheap ($16 and under) entrees and combo plates that not only come in big portions, but actually taste good! The dinner combo plates ($12-14) come with your entree choice and the basics: egg flower or hot & sour soup, sweet & sour pork, egg roll, veggie chow mein, and bbq pork fried rice. Any protein subs are extra. I got the salt & pepper spare ribs which came in good-sized pieces and fried crispy. I also ordered the house pan fried noodles (aka Hong Kong style). It was excellent and prepared exactly how I like it. Lots of meat and veggies. Our thoughtful server even brought out a side of gravy (sauce for the noodles) in case I wanted it more saucy. The basics that came with the combo were just that...basic, but the fried rice was really good. Hubs ordered his usual orange chicken (asked for non-spicy) with chicken fried rice. Again, enough for at least 2 meals and we both enjoyed the orange chicken. We had a party of 8 adults and they had reserved a table for us when we called the day before. The dining room is small, bare decor, but clean. Restrooms were also clean. There were some other customers who dined in, but the vibe was more of a takeout place, as they were busy with to-go and Door Dash orders. Our server, Vicki, was a very sweet, polite, patient, and efficient young lady. She knows good customer service! She had a good sense of humor and she and the kitchen were both very accommodating to all of our special requests and questions. The only issue was that my combo plate came out way later than everyone else's. At least they had brought out the pan fried noodles on time, so that's pretty much what I ate and boxed up most of the combo after it was finally brought out. Meet your friends at Good Friends and enjoy some good food, while supporting a small, local, family business!
I enjoyed the spicy edamame, but I I just feel like it needs to be steamed for a little longer. The flavor is amazing though! The inside of the restaurant is very chill. I haven't had their sushi yet, but I noticed the people next to me had a table full of sushi that looked really good. The next time I come, I am going to definitely try the sushi.
Still in search for our go to local Asian restaurant we decided to give Good Friends a try. There were no customers dining in but plenty of to go orders being picked up. The restaurant is small and quiet. We ordered two dinner combo which come with soup of the day, egg roll, fried rice, chow mein, sweet & sour pork plus the entree of your choice...we went with salt & pepper fish and teriyaki beef. So much food and it was all very tasty. We want to try their sushi options next time. Any recommendations?
Great bang for your buck!! Omg the amount of food for the price is awesome! If you have a big appetite then this is the spot to go. My husband and I each got the combination dinner which came with an entree, fried rice, chow mein, veggie egg roll, egg drop soup, and a small side of sweet and sour pork and I believe it was around $14 each. So if you want a little bit of everything then you should check them out. All of the food came out piping hot. Chow mein and fried rice were good- pretty average. Veggie egg roll was basic, not a lot of veggie in there. Egg drop soup was great! The crisp on the sweet and sour pork was on point- very good! My entree was beef broccoli. Lots of flavor, beef was tender. Good amount of broccoli and wasn't overly saturated in sauce so still some crunch to it. Kung pao shrimp entree was pretty good. Nice spice. Also got an order of the honey walnut shrimp. It was good, but the shrimp seemed a little overdone. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I do think T&Z Chinese has a slight edge, but you can't beat this deal!
Yum! Their lunch portions are generous and delicious. I got the salt and pepper fish with fried rice, chowmein and it also comes with a veggie eggroll. I love the wok taste of the chowmein and the fish was moist and flakey. Also lightly fried so the batter isn't heavy. I placed an online order and arrived by time item was expected. I paid in person and within a minute my lunch was bagged and ready. I look forward to trying out their other items. It's a small restaurant packed with customers and open kitchen so you can see the staff prepping your food. They're also quick and seem efficient.
First visit today for lunch with one of my principals. Bountiful portions for lunch combo (I have leftovers!), place is basic, food is okay, price is nice, service is quick and pleasant from start to finish. Ordered cashew chicken lunch combo $10.25 which was liquidy and mild. No sauce for mild egg roll. Pork fried rice was alright. Vegetable chow mein was ok. Hot & sour soup was delicious. The special lychee boba (chewy not popping boba) smoothie was different but tasty $4.50. Server provided nice large ice water upon request. Good parking. There were enough tables for self-seat after I spoke with the server at the cash register. It's possible I'll return. Not a bad place but I really love exotic flavors.
I love trying new restaurants and when I saw Good Friends had such a wide variety of items on their menu I knew I had to give them a try. I ordered over the phone for pickup, but I noticed they have online ordering available as well. They have lunch offerings as well as an all day menu and there are so many choices. There are rice plates, noodles, sushi, udon, bento boxes- such a variety! For my first visit I ordered the general's chicken lunch, one of their rolls (I can't remember which one) and potstickers. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes and when I arrived it was ready to go. Everything was hot and the portions were generous. I loved the sauce that came with the potstickers, it was a bit tangy. The generals chicken was crispy and flavorful with plenty of sauce and rice and it came with an egg roll and fried rice. On its own it could have been two meals. The sushi was also tasty and the pieces were big with a good amount of fish inside and on top. I'm excited to try more of the menu on future visits.
